Welcome
to the web page for Graduate Studies in the Department of English
at the University of Delaware. We
offer courses of study in English and American Literature leading
to the M.A. and Ph.D. in Literature, as well as an M.A. in Literature
and Pedagogy. We take pride in our lively intellectual community,
the strength of our program across the curriculum, and the extraordinary
opportunities we offer graduate students as they develop their skills
as scholar-teachers.
Our
graduate students can expect to receive competitive funding packages,
to participate in faculty-student research colloquia in addition
to their course-work, to teach independently a variety of writing
and literature courses, and to receive active support as they prepare
to enter the academic job market.
The
University is perfectly located for students to enjoy the benefits
of both Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., in addition to the cultural
and intellectual resources closer at hand in Delaware. The toolbar
at the top of the page will give you more specific information about
aspects of our program and what we have to offer.
