The Good Book
This, of course, is the Bible - the holy Word of God. First and foremost, every Christian should read the Bible daily. In the same way that we physically need to eat food, spiritually we need to ingest God's Word. That person will experience great famine, who denies himself the Word. No Christian should say that there is no time to read the Bible in today's "fast-paced" life. God will always provide for His children those things that are most necessary. Christ said, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." God sanctifies us through His Word, even as Jesus prayed, "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."
So make sure your Christian life is firmly buttressed by the Word of God, and that your quest to read good books isn't lacking the perfect truth of God found in the Bible.
- The WWW Bible Gateway (RSV, KJV, NIV, NASB, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog and Latin)
- The Blue Letter Bible (KJV)
This is a very user friendly Bible, with some neat additional features. Check out the commentaries by Matthew Henry and John Calvin. Also, take caution with Chuck Missler; some of his teachings should not be taken seriously.
- German Bible : Die Bibel
This is Martin Luther's translation (for those who know German)
