Jehovah is the true god, the supreme ruler of the universe | Psalms 83.18 |
The bible is inspired by Jehovah god and should be used in its entirety, allowing the scriptures to interpret themselves | 2 Timothy 3:16,17 |
Jesus Christ is gods son, and therefore is in subjection to Jehovah | John 14:28 |
Jehovah's Witnesses do not use the cross as there symbol, in conjunction with the bibles command not to bow down to any carved image | Exodus 20:3-5 |
We do not believe that Jehovah god and Jesus Christ are the same or part of some Trinity. The bible simply does not support this view | Deuteronomy 6:4 ; Mark 12:29 |
The Kingdom is the main theme of the bible and is a real government that will restore peace to the earth | Isaiah 9:6,7 ; Daniel 7:13,14 |
Gods Kingdom will come by means of Gods Judgment on the nations | Daniel 2:44 |
The earth was made to be lived on and soon people will be enjoying the benefits of the Kingdom right here on a paradise earth | Psalms 37:29 ; Isaiah 45:18 |
JW teach that the 70-year "desolation" period began in the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar, the same year Jerusalem was destroyed. This is not true; the last deportation was in the 23rd year of Nebuchadnezzar, four years later. This means 607 B.C. must be moved back to 611 B.C., and 1914 A.D. back to 1910 A.D.! | Jeremiah 52:30 ; Jeremiah 44:14 ; Jeremiah 44:28 |
JW teach that the walls of Jerusalem did not begin to be rebuilt until the 20th year of Artaxerxes I. However, this is not true. The walls were "finished" just 16 years after the Jews returned from Babylon! Keep in mind, it only took 52 days for Nehemiah to do repair work on the walls; he certainly could not have built a wall around Jerusalem in just 52 days! Nehemiah's work involved simply replacing the decorative stones to the outsides of the already rebuilt walls. | Ezra 4:12 ; Nehemiah 6:15 |
JWs teach that Jesus was arrested on Nisan 14th. This is not true. Jesus was arrested on Nisan 15th since he sent disciples out on the day the lambs were sacrificed (which was Nisan 14th) to prepare for the Passover meal. Jesus and his other disciples did not join them until that "evening." This meant that by Midnight the date had changed to Nisan 15th. Nisan 15th is the traditional day the Jews celebrate Passover in accordance with the date the Jews actually left Egypt, which was the night of Nisan 15th. | Mark 14:12 ; Luke 22:7,8 ; Numbers 33:3 |
JWs teach that Jesus was arrested and died on Nisan 14th. It should be apparent from the above, however, that if Jesus was arrested on Nisan 15th, a Saturday in 33 C.E., that he could not have risen the very next morning. Obviously, he must have died later that week. The Bible says that Jesus would be in the grave for "three nights." Jesus rose on a Sunday, thus counting back three nights from Sunday morning would place Jesus' death on a Thursday afternoon (Saturday night, Friday night, Thursday night). Thus the true date of Jesus' death, according to the Bible, would be the following Thursday, Nisan 20th, at the "ninth hour" which would be around 3:00 p.m., and he rose the following Sunday, three nights later, Nisan 23rd, 33 C.E. The following Scriptures are taken from The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures

(2 Timothy 3:16,17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
(John 14:28) YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.
(Exodus 20:3-5) You must not have any other gods against my face. 4 "You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me;
(Deuteronomy 6:4) "Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.
(Mark 12:29) Jesus answered: "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah,
(Isaiah 9:6,7) For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will come to be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 To the abundance of the princely rule and to peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom in order to establish it firmly and to sustain it by means of justice and by means of righteousness, from now on and to time indefinite. The very zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.
(Daniel 7:13,14) "I kept on beholding in the visions of the night, and, see there! with the clouds of the heavens someone like a son of man happened to be coming; and to the Ancient of Days he gained access, and they brought him up close even before that One. 14 And to him there were given rulership and dignity and kingdom, that the peoples, national groups and languages should all serve even him. His rulership is an indefinitely lasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be brought to ruin.
(Daniel 2:44) "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;
(Psalm 37:29) The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
(Isaiah 45:18) For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: "I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.
(Jeremiah 52:30) In the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan the chief of the bodyguard took Jews into exile, seven hundred and forty-five souls.
(Jeremiah 44:14) "'And there will come to be no escape or survivor for the remnant of Judah who are entering in to reside there as aliens, in the land of Egypt, even to return to the land of Judah to which they are lifting up their soul[ful desire] to return in order to dwell; for they will not return except some escaped ones.'"
(Jeremiah 44:28) "'And as for the ones escaping from the sword, they will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number, and all those of the remnant of Judah, who are coming into the land of Egypt to reside there as alinens, will certainly know whose word comes true, that from me or that from them.'"
(Ezra 4:12) "...They are building the rebellious and bad city and they proceed to finish the walls and to repair the foundations."
(Nehemiah 6:15) "At length the wall came to completion on the twenty-fifth [day] of Elul, in fifty-two days."
(Mark 14:12)Now on the first day of unfermented cakes, when they customarily sacrificed the passover [victim], his disciples said to him: "Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the passover?"
(Luke 22:7,8) The day of unfermented cakes now arrived, on which the passover [victim] must be sacrificed; and he dispatched Peter and John, saying: "Go and get the passover ready for us to eat."
(Numbers 33:3)And they proceeded to pull away from Rameses in the first month, on the fiftenth day of the first month. Directly the day after the passover the sons of Israel went out with uplifted hand before the eyes of all the Egyptians." (Note: The Jews at this time were likely on "Egyptian time" dating, thus the date changed from Nisan 14 to Nisan 15 at Midnight.)
(Matthew 12:40) For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
