Welcome to my personal information page. Just want to let you in on my likes and loves.

Hi! Come on in and have a seat. Let me tell you a little about me - first, you can just call me "Belle".

I'd like to thank Rob Gibson for the MOST BEAUTIFULLY AUTHENTIC photo of me - I will return!! Click the period photo of me to visit his site!
This man takes awesome photos!!

I'm also known as Yankee Belle -
Civil War reenactor, living historian and also amateur paranormal investigator!

I love ghosts: ghost stories - haunted places - you name it. I even collect ghosts of all kinds. Anything with a ghost on it!

First of all these are the loves of my life - "Bonnie" and "Clyde", the children. My babies!
Pledge to Fight Animal Cruelty

I'm also a huge U.S.C. Gamecocks fan & a recent U.S.C. graduate (A.A. degree)! Now I plan to work on my B.A. in historic preservation/community planning at the College of Charleston, if I don't relocate to Gettysburg before then which I've wanted to do for over a decade now.

I am originally from a small, one-horse, country town not too far away from the birthplace of the War Between the States (or as I like to refer to it The War for American Unification) Charleston, South Carolina
.
You can't miss me, I'm the one with the CIVLWAR license plate.
I'm single (yes, that's me) ~ was married briefly but not anymore. I also do work for Find A Grave and you can see my work at:

I enjoy watching NASCAR with my favorite drivers being JUNIOR! and SMOKE!

I also live for my New England Patriots. Tedy Bruschi is my man!!!!

Yes, I may have been born in S.C. (and I've lived here most of my life) but as you will soon discover I'm a Northern Belle at heart.
Guess that's what I get for having a father who was from Topsfield, Massachusetts!! *LOL* I just love those Yankees - especially those Yankees in the blue uniforms!! But I must admit that there are quite a few Southern gentlemen in gray that are just as nice! (Love my JEB and Micah Jenkins)
I have also appeared in one Civil War movie: "ANDERSONVILLE". I was a captured Union soldier and yes, I was a guy. And no, not a woman trying to disguise herself. It seems they couldn't get enough extras so they had to use anyone they could find. I was asked and I said, "YES! YOU BET I'LL DO IT!" That was back in 1994. The movie wasn't the best in the world but the experience was great!

Speaking of showbiz: I also love British comedies. "Blackadder" is my favorite and I also enjoy "Jeeves and Wooster". Rowan Atkinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and Tim McInnerny are my favorites! British humor is best! It's so great having Hugh here in the States starring in "House". And also speaking of Britain, I LOVE BEV BEVAN (the best drummer around!) and the rest of the guys (Jeff, Richard and Kelly!!!!) from !!!!

Next to the Civil War and ghost stories. I enjoy old black and white movies with William Powell
being a huge favorite of mine. When I'm not reenacting or visiting my "boys" on some historic battlefield you can usually find me kicked back watching my old movies!! I have tons of black and white movies and ghost story videos too! I love the beach anytime of the year and basically just being outside being with friends and enjoying life. They tell me I'm a crazy girl but always the life of the party!
My interests are: The Civil War and also battlefield preservation. I am an active member with the The Civil War Preservation Trust, The Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg, the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association (can you tell that I LOVE GETTYSBURG?) and I have been a passed member of the 47th NYVI, Co. C.- The Washington Grays. I miss my friends with the 54th MA and would love dearly to get back with them and I would also like to become an associate member of the 11th S.C. since my two great-great grandfathers fought with this unit!

The Civil War is my life, love, obsession and reason for living. Take it away and I would cease to exist.

I live for the days that I can don one of my hoop skirts and be with my "friends" from years ago. There's nothing better in life than the smell of a campfire and being around my "soldiers" and "friends" talking of the days gone by and the battles fought.
People sometimes jokingly give me a hard time for liking both sides but as I tell these people:
I do not see Rebels or Yankees, blue or gray. I see human beings, innocent lives lost. I see husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, sweethearts who went off to war and possibly never came home. Therefore I do not choose sides. I love them all and they know they are "my boys".
All individuals who fought and died for the Federal Army, to preserve the union of this country or for the Confederacy and for the Cause in which they courageously gave the utmost, their lives - all soldiers, Confederate or Union, should be assured that they will be remembered always as the Heroes of this Great Country.
May God bless your spirits always as we will always strive to keep your memories and struggles alive for future generations.

I can even show you my great-great grandfather's final resting place.
Samuel Bennett, 11th S.C. Inf. Co. I.
And I'm very proud of him too!!
I even have the prison records on my other great-great grandfather, Joseph "Joe" Hiott, III.
The South isn't so bad after all! *S* Keep in mind it has the beautiful Holy City of Charleston, SC and the great state of Virginia!!
(GOD BLESS ROBERT E. LEE)

Along with Joshua, a most respected man, a great human being and military leader, devoted husband and father, I also love Gettysburg, PA.
I must admit Gettysburg is my favorite. This town holds a spot dear to my heart, a true love affair. It is my favorite place ever and the greatest little town! (although I do adore Antietam and Manassas too!) I still hope to relocate there soon so if you find yourself there at the same time I am, give me a shout and I'll give you a personal tour and take you to all the haunted spots and teach you all the history that surrounds this town!!! *S* P.S. - - That's another of my favorite things: GHOST STORIES!
If you have any let me know of them. I am an amateur paranormal investigator and belong to the Ghost of Adams County and am the founder of Lowcountry Paranormal Investigators. I love to go out with my spirit seeking equipment in tow looking for haunted spots. I have taken many photos (mostly at Gettysburg) that are posted on my paranormal page (and I'm always adding new ones!). My theme song should be "Ghostbusters!" WHO YA GONNA CALL?
