Getting an address
One of the main advantages to using the Internet is that it allows you to interact with people from all over the planet. So you can converse with professors, professionals and experts from many fields, old friends, new friends, etc. To facilitate this, you will be getting an e-mail address. If you already have a Rocketmail or Yahoo address, fill in the form and go to Part 2.

Practicing email skills
You will be practicing email this semester by interacting with other students and professionals on a mailing list. Send me a brief note from your Yahoo or Rocketmail account--it can just say "test"--to get you started. My address (WRITE THIS DOWN!): phyllis98@yahoo.com
Be sure to EXIT from your Yahoo email site when finished; if you forget, the next person to use your computer will have access to your email account!

Bulletin Boards
Another cyberskill you'll be utilizing this semester will be using a class bulletin board to post questions, share information, URLs, etc. Now that you have your email address, go to our classbulletin board and post a message.
