I was born January 29, 1975, in Longview, Washington. My family has moved several times, so I have lived in Oregon, Wisconsin, Iowa, and the Chicago area.
I graduated from Sentral-Burt High School (Fenton, IA) in 1993.
In 1997 I graduated from Cornell College (Mount Vernon, Iowa) with a BSS in Languages and Linguistics.
I completed a MA in Linguistics at the University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA) in December 1999. After graduation I worked int the Serials Department of the University of Iowa Libraries, until July 2004, when I moved to Ohio, to attend seminary at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. I am working on a Master of Theological Studies degree (MTS) and plan to graduate in May 2008. My plan after that is to pursue a PhD in Biblical Studies so that I can teach Hebrew to seminary students.
My younger sister Christy is a graduate of Simpson College and is a musician living in Indianola, Iowa. My younger brother Jeff has attended college at Central College and NIACC. My mother Marge has been an United Methodist minister. She served churches in Burt, Lone Rock, Pleasantville, Rockford, and Marble Rock, Iowa. She and Jeff now live in Osceola, IA..
My parents are divorced. My father Jim lives in Chicago. He married Rita Haywood on May 25, 2003. Their wedding picture is here.
