For My Daughters:
Take heed, my love, breath soft
For I come to rescue thee
Hold fast, hold tight
To God's eternal love
And once, yes twice
We'll together forever be
These years gone past apart
Will come together again
And you and I my child will start
As father and daughter we've been
We'll laugh and cry once more
As though the sun shall never set
And the rain becomes a mist
Flowering our love without regret
On Grace:
How could this happen?
Why should this be?
It's because of His Love.
Yes, His Love set me free!
On Christ:
We reach and we stretch -
We look for answers.
We fear the truth
And it is the fear that rules us.
Even in the scream,
We hear only silence.
Why all the madness?
Why the confusion?
Is there a way out?
Can I please get relief?
There is a place -
A place where the day outlasts the night.
Where silence comes
in a gentle whisper.
Here is where the soul may rest -
Where the soul may breathe free;
Clear of the confusion and madness.
Where the Truth can be faced without the fear.
"Oh, my life," I replied, "it is the perfect Christian life."
"Do tell, do tell!" they said with excitement. "Is God working mightly in your life? Is He using you in extraordinary ways? they asked with anticipation.
"No, no." I said with a grin of blushed cheeks.
"Then, has God blessed you with a wonderful life, full of happiness? Surely, you have a beautiful home and a beautiful family life!"
"Nothing spectacular in a home, and our family has its share of problems".
"We know, we know!" they both cried together. "Your job - God has blessed you with a job you like and provides you with a lot of money!"
"Truth is," I replied as I looked down, "I just can't seem to get a job".
Annoyed, the pair then asked with flare, "Then exactly how is your's the perfect Christian life, sir?"
Humbly, with welling joy in my heart, I answered. "It seems my life has been kept at the end of my rope of existence. As I strive to hold on, if I look up, I see into the eyes of the One who holds onto me. If I look down, I see the palm of the One who is there to catch me should I fall. And all the while I am learning to trust and wait upon Him who bought my life with His own blood. Should anything happen, I look with assurance into it, that I am His and not my own. What greater perfection can there be, what more can be added, than to know I am His forever?"
