Comments: Reunion Committee - We got our mini-yearbook last week and couldn't even wait to get up the hill to the house to open it! Still can't believe how young we all still look! We still talk about the good time we had, and the pleasure of seeing old friends. Here it is nearly a year since the reunion, and it only seems like a few weeks. We had a sad reminder of how quickly things can change when we lost Mark's dad on Jan 2. If you haven't yet taken the time to get in touch with that someone you plan to "someday", please do it now - you don't know when "someday" may become never. Enough soapbox. Hope everyone had a safe, restful, and happy summer. Ours was quiet, didn't do much, or go anywhere special. We are hoping to make a trip to Europe next year, we ave a niece in Germany, and a nephew in Estonia. Seems like a good time to visit them. Have a great "rest of the year." Sherry P.S. For those of you who might be wondering where my sister Laura is now, she and her husband have moved to Orofino, Idaho. Her email (if she has her computer up and running now) is: SPRKLQWN@aol.com. Drop her a line, she'd love to hear from you.
Comments: We're getting closer! On Friday, August 4, the committee will be having a barbecue at the Mark Shultz home. There will be meat, drink and merriment ........... we have the mini annuals and we'll be attaching mailing labels during the feast! Watch your snail mail boxes in the upcoming weeks. There may be a few left over so if you didn't purchase one at the reunion last November they'll be available on a first come, first serve basis as soon as the hangovers subside. Cheers!
Comments: Hi Everyone, I went through the yearbook and I can honestly say that I remember each and every face I saw, and I don't even belong to this class. I'm class of '68. But what a trip. Thanks Mike, for such a wonderful gift. Bless you all and see you in the future...
Comments: My name is Brad Finney. I am a 1977 grad of CUHS. Unfortunately, I have not kept in touch with any of my classmates since my freshman year in college in San Diego. I have moved quite a bit over the years and for the past 20, I have been in Portland, Oregon. I recently moved again, this time to Columbus, OH. I would really like to get in touch with anyone from the old days. I noticed that a classmate has also discovered this website. I don't know if you remember me, but " Hi, Stan" Please feel free to send me an e-mail and let me know if anyone has heard about a 25 year in the works. I look forward to hearing from you!
Comments: Hey, it's been so great to read all the messages! This e-mail is fun. I too, rely on my kids to show me how it's done. Kent and I are still in Phoenix and going to tons of Diamondback ballgames. Mark Shultz came to a game with us and it was so good to visit with him. He's just as cute as ever! Thanks to Mike Laine for such a site! Susie York Fulmer We welcome any e-mail messages, now that I know how to turn the computer on.
Comments: Happy Fourth of July to all. Cathy Pappas just spent four days here in Santa Cruz,CA. Barbie Doss and Nancy Rosembaum Carroll joined us. We had an awesome weekend from riding the roller coaster at the Boardwalk to covering 30 years of life. Hope you all had as great of a weekend as we did.
Comments: The mini annual is on the final draft table. We'll be mailing them as soon as we get the finished copies. Cheers!
Comments: Mike, you did a great job on this website.
Comments: I'm walking away from my desk for an extended vacation and I see a stack of Thank You notes I meant to send THE COMMITTEE sitting here. Oh my. So before I go, Mark, Margie, Richard, Diane, Joe, Bellia, Denise, Gloria, Marilyn & Mike I send you my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the terrific job you did in making this the best reunion yet! And to your families, who graciously shared your time with us, thanks to them too. The experience will remain one of my most cherished memories. And because of Mike, we will all be able to savor it to our hearts' content via his incredible Web site. Thank you Mike. Honestly, while I was living in London it made me feel so close to home. Now hardly a day goes by now that I don't hear from an old school chum, many of which I had no contact with for 20 & 30 years. I have to mention how especially heartwarming it was for me that Miss Jones joined us for the evening. If I'm not mistaken, 1965 was her first year at Central as well as ours. She was my freshman girls gym teacher, and I'm surprised that after me (I really mean after all of us!), she didn't find a new line of work. Anyway, not only is she at Central some thirty plus years later, but she now runs the show as Principal. Way to go Miss Jones. How kind she was to come out and share in our celebration. Cheers gang, be healthy and happy. Anyone coming through Chicago let me know. Linda Colson and I will show you around. Linda will pick you up at the airport. Ha!
Comments: I'm sorry I missed the reunion, I would have loved to have been there. This site is a blast. What a time it was. Hope to make the next one.
Comments: Just a quick note to everyone. I haven't checked the guestbook lately. It is great to see some new messages/names. We had a meeting two nights ago to check on our picture book from the reunion. We will keep you posted. Well, so long from Dicky.
Comments: This is a really cool site. I was checking it out because my dad was in the class of '69 (Joe). I hope someone will do this for my class ('98)! Can't wait for my 10 year!
Comments: Hello classmates, my son helped me set up my own email and would love to now get mail. Thanks for all of the fun last November. It was unforgettable. Thats all thanks.
Comments: Nice website.....actually a terrific website.....how about some web guru doing something like this for the class of '66....after all wasn't that the best graduating class ever??
Comments: It's me again...Just finished looking over the scrapbook pages and pulled out the ole yearbook! I'm wondering about several classmates who were not at the reunion or perhaps I didn't recognize them in the pics! If anyone has any info about these guys please let me know! B.Adamek,J.Beinhorn,J.Blackman,J,Budworth,G.Cason,C.Conway,L.Cortez,L.Dumond,K.Eyer,C.Rechter,Gerald Richardson,Janet Potter,Judy Pierson,Carol Moss, Cindie Wyatt,N. Gratianne,Judy Jones, Ted Lyon, Linda Marcot,Jeanette Watterman,Susie York.. .. That"s just from our class!!!!! I'm trying to locate others from other classes as well....If you have any info please let me know...Thanks PCS
Comments: Just finished looking over the guestbook and jotted down lots of email addresses! I heard about the reunion from lots of people...so sorry I missed it but am looking forward to the 35 year reunion. Just hope it can be in June as that is the only time my husband can get off of work for an extended period of time. Would love him to meet all my friends from CUHS! To all my buds from El Centro, drop a line ok? Now that I've learned this email business(my kids have been very patient with me)I'm having a blast contacting everyone I can think of! I never got into letter writing and I hate the phone but this is too much fun! Waiting to hear from all of you! Patti
Comments: This is a great page and the notes are wonderful to look over - I am from the class of 1950.. We are having our 50th class reunion October 7, 2000 at the Barbara Worth Golf Resort (Country Club). Have a great day fellow Spartans - Dave DeBow.
Comments: I am a graduate of the class of 70. I recognize very few faces. But then alot of things change in 30 years. Best wishes to all and how sad to see so many bright lives lost.
Comments: HELLO EVERYONE. I'M SORRY I MISSED THE 30TH AND SURE HOPE EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED HAD A GREAT TIME. SEE YOU IVA
Comments: Hello, I was looking for the school address and found this website. I graduated in 1978. Have fun with your reunion.
Comments: I found this web site through my sister in-law who lives in San Diego…..Ben and I just got done looking through it...it was very nostalgic! I wish that my class ('73) had one like it. Looking at the pictures brought memories of my 20th, will be looking forward to my 30th.. If there are any grads from class of '73 who have not attended at least one reunion, your missing the boat, totally! Three more years to go, my sister Dahlia will be attending her 30th this year...She was a Senior at the time that I was freshman so I recognize faces from '70, '71, '72 or of course '73 then '74, and well up to maybe '75. I would like more grads to sign up in the guestbook, that would be nice...Thank you Mike for such a wonderful Web Page, even though it's not my year! But it is my school...keep up the great work you are doing here...
Comments: Hi Stan, I'm the web master of the "Class of '69" web site. You might be able to find members of your class on the Delphi Chat Forum at: http://www.delphi.com/cm-8143/start/ It's a simple free process of signing up. What a blast we had in November at Brunner's. Over 200 showed and a good time was had by all. Hope you can make your next one. Stop by the CUHS Alumni Registry and sign up so the committee can find you by e-mail at: http://www.infophil.com/California/Alumni/CUHS/ Cheers, Mike Laine '69
Comments: Hi there, I am not a member of the class of "69" but I am a member of the class of "77" and would like to know if anyone is working on our 30 yr class reunion. I was not able to attend our 20 yr and I will make it a point to attend a 30 yr if it's scheduled! Thanks " CUHS! Still kickin after all these years"
Comments: Here I am stuck way up here in the sticks of Northern Nevada. I really miss Cali and good old C.U.H.S. Funny that we make so many realizations later in life. Or maybe I just wasn't paying attention, huh? Anyway, I am doing really well and would be so happy if some of you would write to me. I often wonder about so many of you and the memory page really brought tears to my eyes. I am pretty new to all this computer stuff and we just got ours a few months ago. So with the help of my two teenage kids I should soon be a whiz. Can't wait to hear from ya so please write. Love Lin
Comments: I found it very nostalgic. It is a nice web site. Do other classes have a web site such as this?
Comments: Just wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
Comments: Happy New Year!
Comments: Happy New Year ya'll..keep in touch let's party on. I have enjoyed and cherished the contacts I have made and continue to hear from...love Tess
Comments: Had a great time and I loved seeing everyone! I apologize if I didn't recognize you. Just a thought...for our 35th, how 'bout a weekend party cruise??!!! I can arrange it through my Travel Agency...please let me know what you think! Best wishes for the New Year- Sara Guinn
Comments: Thank you everyone that did so much work in making our reunion such a big success. I enjoyed myself greatly. I am blessed by all the hugs and hellos. I know what it is now that I have missed ...your faces. Maybe this next Millenium will afford us the opportunity to see each other more. Time passes so fast. But, the reunion has proved this one thing to me, that we are all world changers and points of change. We were all placed on this earth to bring about change in the lives of those we come in contact with. At the reunion I recognized that. Everyone keep up the good work and continue to be a blessing. Love ya Florida
Comments: Hi Janet ... I haven't received your photos yet but then again this is the slow season for mail. Isn't it? It has been a while since I mailed anything other than e-mail. I'll get them up as soon as the horse plows through the drifts of snow and drops them off. Several folks have sent some shots and they're great! I hope to get new ones as the grads pull that film from those cameras. Cheers ...

Comments: Grand Web Page Mike! We have photos for you. Have they arrived? Great one, superb, even of Sonny and Susan Rasmussen. Thank you for all the work and time.
Comments: Can't believe it's Dec. and almost a month since our reunion. I still check our site daily to see any updates or new pictures. I have shared with many of my friends and family the "Three Musketeers" dressed alike at the reunion. What a crack up, I would've been devastated 30 years ago, but I thought today it was a riot, Gracie and Jeanette both have great taste in choosing a "New Outfit" for our 30th. reunion!!! By the way, just a quick note to our "Hostesses" Nancy Trapnelle (?????) and Carol Bedig Richter (SP?) if any of the committee is in touch with them, they did a great job.....It was fun because I remember them both so well. Thanksgiving has passed and I hope it was a great holiday for all and want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and as we go into the millenium (??) Once again thanks to the committee, Mike Laine for the web site,(it honestly has changed my life)I plan on keeping in touch with ALOT of my classmates in 2000...I am still telling my friends about our 30th. reunion and just our class in general. We REALLY, REALLY,REALLY, were the MIGHTY 69ers!!! If you haven't registered with the Delphi Forum (under Contact Us) push yourself and do it because it gives you access to anyone who graduated from Central High School (besides, it's free)and may help connect graduates from ALL ages that lost contact. Even with computer technology that we have today, I haven't heard of very many classes having their own web site, once again we may have started a trend, just like the 69'ers huh? Take care and be safe...Denise Hughes, class of 1969!!!
Comments: So sorry I missed the party. Glad to see you all on this wonderful web site. Hope I can catch up sometime soon. Love to hear from you. Love Linda.

Comments: Hi There, What a great time at the reunion!! It was good to see all my classmates there. It was really good to see how we survived the "60's. Let me know when the next event is. By the way, we all got better looking over these past 30 years!
Comments: P.S. I almost forgot. Mike, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this wonderful web site. Who would have thought in 1969 that such a wonderful way of communicating would be here for us today. You did an outstanding job!
Comments: I keep thinking about the wonderful time that was had at the reunion. It was so great to see so many friendly faces and enjoy some warm hugs. Everyone looks great! I missed seeing some of those I wanted to and really enjoyed seeing those I did. The committee did a wonderful job putting it all together. THANK YOU! I also want to send a special thank you to Mark and his wife Dolores, Dolores you are a wonderful person! My husband and I really enjoyed Friday night. A special thanks to Janet Foster for befriending Jim and making him feel right at home with everyone. He also had a great time. We have all aged a little and some of us have added a few pounds, but overall we have all faired very well. I was a little leery of attending this reunion, but decided I must, glad I did. I now can't wait for the next one to get here. Judy Mahan shared a special remembrance from our Blue Bird days at McKinley that really sent me back a ways. And of course it was great to see Carol Moss and remember the ICE CREAM her mom would have ready for us on birthdays at her home back in grade school. My husband and I ran into Diana Maggard on our way back to our hotel Saturday morning and shared some good memories. Cathy Pappas, you haven't changed much over the years, you are still just as crazy as when we ran around together. I could go on forever, but I guess I really should go. Thank so much for a wonderful weekend. It was so nice to leave the office behind and relax with old friends. Jim made some new friends an would really love to go fly fishing with Al Maddox!! He is already going on about what a great vacation Alaska would be!
Comments: Thanks for the web page from all those (like me) who could not make it to the reunion. I had a taste of the reunion when Betty McFetridge Pardue came to visit here in Luling, TX. at the end of October. Greg was at music sales conference in Austin. She came to the high school where I work as school librarian or should I use the new term library media specialist. HA! HA! We had lunch (good old Texas BBQ) and visited at my home later. Wish I could recognize more people from the scrapbook section. I did recognize Rene, Kenna Sue, Richard, Marilyn, and Greg though. Betty wrote me about this web address. Great to see the fun had by all at the reunion! GOOD JOB Mike. Thanks.
Comments: Whew boy!!! What a few days!! Over a year in the planning, and then BAM it's done!! It was great seeing everybody again, I only wish that EVERYone could've made it. Isn't it amazing how most of us look almost the same...give or take a few pounds and/or wrinkles ;-) ***IMPORTANT NOTE***Everyone has five years to search their closets and basements etc...for my letterman's jacket!!! You know where to find me. Send it anonymously if you feel the need….so I can move forward. I don't want to spend our 35th grill ng everyone again!!! :-) Rich P.S. The the Beauty Klinique Bunch...thanks for all the laughs...those locker room stories will last for many years. A special thanks to Gloria for getting us oriented as to proper attire ;-) Love, Dicky Dubbe's Wife (Laura) .P.S Alaska Gang...we're coming...that's our 2001 family vacation (Orlando's planned in 2000)
Comments: Mike Laine you have done an outstanding job by allowing us to enjoy this website(:
Comments: For me personally reading these are a way of prolonging the feelings we all clearly enjoyed ourselves ........ it makes you feel a little more connected...to your past which is ever so much a part of your everyday....and life continues to go on....great to see you all!
Comments: Really had a good time and enjoyed seeing everyone again at the reunion. Some of the Hedrick group, especially Jeanne and Fred C. brought my memories way back to kindergarten. The committee did a wonderful job. Marilyn, you are a master with words. Mike's web page is fantastic and I'm sure will receive much use in the years to come. Its amazing how some people can be recognized instantly while others look completely different. Hope to see everyone again next time.
Comments: What a great time Mark and I had last weekend. We are both so glad we made the decision to attend. It warms the heart to see the people we walked the halls with and shared classes, friendships, lunch, homework, and boy/girl happiness and heartache with. I can't believe how young we all still look!! For those we got to spend time with, what a pleasure, and for those we missed, what a sorrow we didn't get to talk. Hope everyone will plan to be at the next reunion. I hope that we can keep in touch with renewe friendships, either in person, or by email, snail mail, or phone. If any of you ever get out to southern Illinois, please look Mark and I up, we would love to see you or show you our local scenery. May God bless and keep each of you safe, happy, and healthy. Sherry P.S. To all the members of the reunion committee-Thank You so much for all your hard work. Love this web page!
Comments: Great web page Mike!
Comments: Oh, what fun we had this weekend. I want to apologize, though, to the people who didn't get their write-up in the book we passed out at the door. I used the information sent to us on the reservation sheet so if you paid at the door, I didn't have anything in print to go on. So, this guest book is an excellent way to let us know what you have been up to. I have checked it three times a day and am always thrilled to see who has added a note. Mike Laine knows how many hits a day it gets and each one, to him, as a pat on the back for a job well-done. He is wonderful, isn't he???
Comments: My wife and I enjoyed the reunion, seeing everyone and getting re-aquainted with old friends was an enjoyable night, looking forward to the next one. Mike you and your class have done a terrific job with this web page. Posting the after the reunion photos was done so quickly. I'll check back for more later on. I'm sure there will be more after the ones that have to be developed are done. Thanks for all of the hard work you have put into this.
Comments: Had a great time at the Class Reunion, it was nice seeing a lot of classmates, and good friends. The music dinner and dancing was fun. My thanks to all.
Comments: What a wonderful web site!!!
Comments: We had a fantastic time. It was great seeing everyone again. Thanks to all the committee members. You did an excellent job.
Comments: P.S. You know how small towns are, so I just want to set the record straight. If you should happen to hear the nasty rumor that I was a brazen hussy and kissed Ricky DuBois in the middle of the dance floor, on the lips, well . . . it's completely true!!!! I kissed ALL the boys and I LOVED IT!!!
Comments: A public forum far out! Class of '69 still rules! The two reunion parties were absolutely fabulous! I never realized I had so many friends. From Lincoln Elementary, Velma Woo, Elizabeth Gonzales, Lupe, Linda Sue, Remy and Cesar, great to see you....From Central my best friends Denise and Anne didn't let me down with their hospitality and friendship. And Anne for the make-up! To Barbie Doss who accompanied me to Cathy Pappas, Ms. Pappas for inspiring me to go, Claudia for her smile and spirit, to Kork Foster, Gloria, Diane, Denise, Sara, Janet Foster, the ladies on the dance floor and that really rude bar tender who cut ME off, thank God Denise could buy for me! Thank you all for such a great time. Al Maddox says a cruise in five years. Anybody else up for I ? Oh yeah and to Vince Colace who went to school at Conestoga High School where I taught in 1994-95 school year. Yo to Ricky DuBois and Jeff Sturdavant, and to Gary Tubach….you're an old woman miss you all already, and Richard and Marilyn and Mark and especially Mike Laine who without the webpage I would have never found any of you! Thanks for a memorable time. Oh yeah and Roger and Judy and John Lansing, but not Greg Cason WHEW! If I missed anyone I am so sorry I'll write again. Love Tess

Comments: GREAT REUNION PARTY
Comments: I want to put down a few thoughts while I am still in the heady swirl of the last two evenings. Two evenings filled with love and laughter, shrieks of recognition, tears of joy, hugs that went on forever and dancing fools! Thanks to my dear friend, Marilyn Fisher Burt, who has nagged me for the last 10 years until, with great trepidation (and at the last minute!) I reluctantly agreed to come to my first reunion. I read Marilyn's analogy about each of us being parts of a puzzle and how one missing piece creates a hole because you and only you can fill that void. After I read that I thought, "What a CROCK!" Like, who could have possibly missed ME?! After all, didn't you guys SAY that you hated me for "ruining the curve"? (And other sins of being smart)? And I believed it. Until last night. I sit here tonight, still overwhelmed by the sweet love and camaraderie that filled the room. Gone were the old boundaries of high school years. Gone, the old walls of intellect or race, popularity, social standing or dress just friend greeting friend greeting friend. Hugs and tears (OK, the guys didn't cry!)and dancing til we couldn't breathe! If you didn't come, you were, indeed, sadly missed.
Comments: I do hope that all of you that were able to attend the reunion had a wonderful time...I truly wish I could have been there too. But as some of you may know, I developed a crummy, little heart problem this summer that has had me sort of sidelined. But I am doing better. I was most looking forward to seeing my oldest friend, Susan. Our friendship goes back ten years before our graduation in 1969, to the summer of 1959, when we were both 7. Susie...you know I love ya! I am ready for the "long" talk anytime. Tess, Linda, Kathy P., Claudia and Marilyn, my thoughts were with you, I have truly enjoyed the e-mail and hope you will keep it coming. My compliments to Mike who has done a wonderful job on the web page...you are so talented. What a generous thing to do. The pictures are great. To the rest of you, I took out my annual last night and thought about each and every one of you. It was a fun, "long strange trip." God bless you all and stay healthy...I want to see all of you there again in ten years. Is :)
Comments: Enjoyed the pictures, in the scrapbook, at the different events. My thoughts were with you Fri. and Sat. I am looking forward to receiving the book with pictures and addresses in it. Micki
Comments: I finally got our guest book up and running. Please sign and leave a comment that can be seen by all. The web site will be available for your pleasure in the years to come. I'll make changes from time to time so check back and see what's new. Plans now include pictures from the reunion being scanned and uploaded to the "Scrapbook" and news events that the committee claim worthy. We're looking forward to seeing everyone and will miss those not coming. I hope that you enjoy the effort and keep this site bookmarked! Cheers!
Comments: "YESTERDAY, WHEN WE WERE YOUNG, THE TASTE OF YOUTH UPON OUR TONGUE... Many words have passed out over that tongue since June of 1969. They got us through school, married, employed -- or out of school, unmarried, unemployed. Regardless of the direction we' e traveled, the road we're on, or the distance we've gone, our paths shall cross, we hope, on April 21, 1979. The day you felt would never come is just around a bend in the road. Yes, it really has been ten years and no, you don't still look the same. Besides, it's not what you look like that matters; it's how everyone else has fared that draws the crowds, right? Wrong! What sets the feet in motion is the head that gets the notion that friendships are worth the time, the distance, the effort, the cost, and in many cases, the babysitter, to renew. Our adolescent institutionalization at Central Union High School consisted of some of the most puzzling years of our lives. We feel we had one of the best jigsaws going and it's our desire to put the pieces back to ether for a night. Your absence will leave a gap; your presence will complete the picture. One nice thing about a jigsaw puzzle is that every single piece fits perfectly." That message was included in your invitation to the 10 year reunion. I know because I wrote it and the original is in a plastic sleeve in my notebook that contains all of my work for our 30th. That piece of paper has floated around with me for 20 years...and I have done a lot of floating. I couldn't get rid of it because very shortly after it was written, our class lost a puzzle piece that left a hole in many of our hearts. Rod Ritter said to me that he liked what I said about all the pieces fitting together. And then he was gone. In 1990, I returned to CUHS, not to reminisce, but to teach. Spartan Blue filled my days and homework my nights. Somethings never change. That's because everything fits together in the end. Planning this reunion has been a walk back into time that I have enjoyed immensely. I am amazed to see what the class of 196 has done with their lives. Their travels, hobbies, kids (and grandkids), trials--they caused envy, interest, empathy and admiration, respectively, on my part. In four short days, we will put many of the remaining puzzle pieces back together for a few hours. I hope the years have been good to you...and continue to be. May God bless you with health, happiness, and a good memory for good times.
