Activities

1.) Young Women In Leadership is a mentoring program for middle-school aged girls. Each student and mentor pair reads literature that will help to educate, inspire and validate young women. Both the volunteer mentors and the students are from our community and are females who are taking proactive roles to promote healthy, independent, problem-solving young leaders.

2.) The Journey Inward, a reading and discussion program, through the Maine Humanities Council ran through the winter season and concluded in March. The program had a total of thirty participants who enjoyed five, seperate women's autobiographies. We hope to host another program this fall. If you would like to participate and/or have a particular interest regarding the genre we select, stop by the library and let us know. 3.) Plan to bring your children to the library this summer! Each Saturday morning from June 26 through August 7 we will host a guest performer. The performances will range from Native American Ceremony and Dance to magic and juggling. The performances will be held in the natural amphitheater behind the library. You bring your beach blankets and we'll provide the popsicles. Hope to see you and your family then!
