CHRISTIAN CHARACTERISTICS
On Your Daily Walk With the Lord !
"What the Bible has to say!"
"This is a page designed to make you think on what you can do to become a better Christian.
There are many scriptures here in the table below that allow you to see what the Bible declares, that we are to do as believers
in our daily life to live as Christians."
In (I Peter 1:13-16) the Bible says, "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought
unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."
In (Romans 12:1-2) The Word of God states, "I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
As you read those two scriptures above, they are most likely bringing to your mind a sense of how you are to shape yourselves as Christians. Yes, there
are things that we should and could do as believers to improve our Christian walk, our walk with God, yes even our witness to the world. Remember
that not only does God watch you, but the world has it's eye on you and how you carry yourselves. The bible tells us in (Ephesians 4:22) "That ye put
off concerning the former conversation(life) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your
mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." Remember that Paul wrote in (II Corinthians 5:20)...
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ,..." Yes, there is a way we should carry ourselves as representatives of Jesus Christ.
In (II Corinthians 5:17) Paul also rights... "Therfore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things
are become new." This is where we will start this study. This is Part III of a four part study. Be prayerful as to what the Holy Spirt would have you learn here.Take out your Bible and follow along in God's Word the things that you should "Put Off" and
the things you should "Put On" in your Christian Walk. This material is being reprinted by permission of Bensalem Baptist Church.
