Advancements are an important part of the Royal Order of Chivalry. The advancements have been designed in such a way that they promote Christian ideals and skills, but at the same time are teaching members the history and traditions of our ancestors. Page Upon the completion of the Quest, the Crusader receives a Noble to serve as part of the paging ceremony. Upon entering the service of the Noble, the page will wear a tabard of the Noble's livery colors. Upon the center of the tabard is worn the Noble's badge. The page may wear a fancy tunic or gown under the tabard, but must always wear the tabard over it. The page is not entitled to wear any weapons or armor, unless participating in a tournament. They may wear a brown or black belt. |

Squire Upon the completion of the Pages Handbook, the page is made a squire at a household meeting. At this time, a page can enter the service of a different Noble. The squire is required to wear the tabard of the Noble. The squire is allowed to wear a sword or dagger with his tunic. He is also entitled to wear as a regular course armor items such as a mail coif or mail bishop's mantle, vambraces (forarm protection), or gauntlets. The squire wears a brown or black belt. |

Nobles (knights, lords and ladies) The Noble is entitled to wear his own coat of arms. This is a very important step in the Royal Order of Chivalry. The granting of Nobility takes place at a State Court and is officiated by the Head of the State. It is a ceremony that the squire publicly wears his surcoat for the first time. As part of the ceremony, they are granted the right to a red belt. Knights are further granted the right to wear gold or gilt spurs. |

The Peer | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Knight Banneret and Guildmaster makes the step from Nobility to Peerage. This involves the Noble completing all the requirements for advancement and the completion of the vigil. The Vigil is conducted by the Baron of the Guild under the auspices of the Head of State. The Peer is entitled to wear a 3/4 inch coronet with six of the appropiate guild emblems spaced equally around the perimeter. It is possible and even encouraged to become a Guildmaster in more than one guild. The Guildmaster coronet may display as many as twelve different guild emblems. The Knight Barrenet wears a white belt, and the Guildmaster a gold belt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
