Fairy Fiona von der Salzblume called "Funny", is a registered pure bred Champion Line Maine-Coon, in Classic (MC) Black Tabbie with white and silver. Her nickname was pre-destined, mostly because she IS. She grew very fast when she was young, and was so clumsy she always fell off the furniture, sliding off the windowsill, and such other graceful ventures. We constantly laughed at her, and since she is a smiling kitty herself, took it in good grace. "Funny" really fits her Character to a T. She is very loving, always climbing onto laps wanting attention, curious, attentive, and an all around a very 'present' cat. If she doesn't see us for a little bit, she races through the house checking up on us. When she has kittens, it is very funny to see her racing about trying to give everyone the needed attention. She enjoys cuddling with her kittens and hanging out on the tall cat tree, although she is getting too big to find a comfortable spot. We are waiting for her to fall off when dreaming. Her hobbies include eating her own food, snacking on the kitten food, stealing the oldsters food when giving half a chance, and eating whatever falls off our plates when she jumps onto them. She loves any type of cooked meat, veggies, and raw cucumber. It has become sort of a game finding something she hates to discourage her begging (she eats like a horse, four times as much as any other cat, so she can't possibly be hungry), but from fruit and salads, to asparagus, pickles or jalopeno peppers nothing scares her. If she can get it, she'll eat it. If she could figure out how to nurse, I'm sure she would get into her own milk. She is also our proclaimed water freak. There is always a lake around the water bowl, and she has to be locked out when someone is taking a bath. For that reason (we presume), the bathroom is her favorite spot, and she is often found sleeping in the sink. I dread the day when she learns how to push the lever, she'll flood the whole house. We are very impressed with her disposition and beauty, and her best feature is the 'fat lip' she began developing when she was a year old. It's really just a coloring her line is famous for, but doesn't it look like she is grinning like the cat from Alice in Wonderland? (check the last photo on this page). Her character sure matches her beautiful markings. We congratulate ourselves every day to decide having her travel such a long way to join our family (she is from somewhere near Dresden, and it was an all day journey). We are planning to have ONE litter with her and a yet to be determined pure bred Persian in 2007 (if she'd only stop sneaking around with Nick without being in heat and us NOTICING), so that we may keep one more Ladycat for ourselves, to be bred to Balou (out of Tinka & Nick). There is a lovely shaded silver Chinchilla possibly applying for the position. |
