DUE MONDAY, March 8th (for EVERYONE): A four to six minute descriptive speech (see page 390 in text) to inform the audience about some aspect of your life (person, place, event, other).

You will need visual aids, and an outline as usual.

Pay attention to all of the regular items on your evaluatin page as far as a proper introduction (read what you're being graded on), body, and conclusion.

Review your areas that needed improvement as noted by me on your ebvaluation forms from the first two speeches and practice with an eye on improving in those areas especially.

I will still be looking for each of the seven items listed on the evaluation sheet as part of the STEP system (staements, translations, examples, proof).

I will listening for transitions between each point you make.

Due Tues Feb 16, noon: Your complete first assignment, which includes the following:

1. A list of TEN topics, with the following supplied for EACH topic:

Main point #2

Main point #3

More main points if needed (but at least two, no more than five)

This preceding part of the assignment should have been completed last week, but do it over if you have doubts.

2. A list of those SAME ten topics, but with the following items supplied for and pertaining to EACH topic:

- An explanation

- A definition

- An analogy

- An example

- A personal experience

- An expert's opinion

- A statistic

- A visual aid that would improve your speech's comprehension by the audience (your classmates)

All of this must be emailed to joeparis99@yahoo.com by noon Tuesday February 16th in order for me to grade it on time for Wednesday's classes.

All who have not spoken for a grade will do so at that time. Start thinking now of your topic fpor your next speech: a demonstration speech. Check your text for tips hints and clues on preparing one, plus we will talk about it in class next Wednesday, Feb 17. See you then.
