This photo was taken on the last day on Kili in the rain forest. (One tired puppy.)
I must say it has given me a great sense of accomplishment and has broaden my horizons. Not bad for an Okie who had never been east of the Mississippi. Much less out of the country.
I wish to thank all of my friends and family for all their support and help.
New adventures for 2003 are shaping up. I'm hoping to get 5,000 miles in on the bikes. Just rode the road bike across Oklahoma in June. The trip was from Denison TX to Coffeeville KS. It was with Freewheel. Put 464 miles on the bike during the week and rode my first 100 mile ride in just over 5 hours. Could have broke the 5 hour mark easily if I had known I was so close to doing so. Also hoping to finally get started on a new house. Hummm... Sounds like a busy year to me. Also hoping to spend a week on the Green River in Oct or maybe the week hiking the Maze in Utah.
Photo of me the day I pruchased my new GT 1.0 I-drive. and upgraded the drive train to all XTR. It's a real sweet bike. I hope to be adding photos from the trail soon. In this photo I'm on an AMP B5 riding at Clearbay at Thunderbird. Down hill. For more info to Mountain Biking here in Oklahoma please check out OEF web site. (Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship.)
Here are a couple of photos from a recent hike in the Grand Canyon Plateau Point off the Bright Angle Trail. This photo is on the Bright Angle Trail as well.
Photos above: The one on the left was taken on the Kaibab Trail below the rim. The one on the right was taken from Mather Point. It was a great trip. Even with a late start the second day I was able to make it from the rim to the river and back to the rim on the Kaibab Trail in about six-six and half hours. Not something to be attempted not unless your in extremely good shape.
