Everyone remembers Bambi because of her nice handwriting and pleasing STC-accent. That's why she was voted our Class Secretary. As to why she is called Bambi, remains a mystery. There is no truth to the rumor that she is a reincarnated doe. She completed her post-graduate internship at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center. Again it was not true that she went to the Veterans to pursue a golfing career. After serving the veterans for her internship in 1986, Bambi went to the other side of the age bracket and entered the pediatric residency program at The Medical City (so she really liked her pediatric rotations !). 1990 wasn't exactly a smooth year for her. She had to give up a fellowship in Pediatric Respiratory/Immunology in Sydney, Australia because of family considerations. On the bright side, it was in the same year that she tied the knot with Dr. Ruben Kasala, a UERM MD'84 stag. Ruben (or better known for his canto-boy name, Benru) initially did a Neurology residency program at UERM but decided to pursue an Internal Medicine position at the Medical City. Bambi started her practice at the Medical City but was seriously considering an Allergology fellowship. The year 1991 was an exciting one for her. She entered a fellowship in Allergology at the UP-PGH and gave birth to their first fawn....ooopps...son, Carlo, in December. After PGH, she pursued further training in Allergology at the University of California in San Francisco. 1994 was the start of her Pediatric Allergy practice at the Medical City.
Organizations where Bambi belongs include the Philippine Pediatric Society (Diplomate in 1992 and Fellow in 1997), and the Philippine Society of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology where she became a diplomate in 1997.
A fourth member of their family was born in August 1995, Kevin. They are expecting a fifth one this August 1999.
Thank you to Bambi and Ruben for their contributions to this section - from the WEBMASTERS [posted 1/17/99]
We know Tina from medical school as a very friendly person. She is what you call "maaasahan" (reliable). After medical school, Tina entered the wonderful world of Morphine, the Anesthesia residency program of the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital. She finished in 1991 or should I say...was extubated in 1991. After training, she went to Roxas City, Capiz province in the Visayas and started a practice there. She has been an attending consultant since 1992 at the Capiz Emmanuel Hospital in the same city. Tina has held other positions in the area including visiting consultant at the Saint Anthony College Hospital and secretary of the Drug Committee ( making inventories at the pharmacy ???) at Capiz Emmanuel Hospital. She and her husband, who is an obstetrician-gynecologist, are also active consultants at the Capiz Doctors Hospital where both of them are major stockholders. The hospital, which was established in 1997, is actually a cooperative of more than 30 local doctors.
Organizations where Tina belongs include the Philippine Society of Anesthesia (member), the Philippine Board of Anesthesia (conferred a diplomate last October 1997), the American Society of Regional Anesthesia (member), the Philippine Medical Association (life member), and the Capiz Medical Society where she became Treasurer for 1998-99.
Tina is happily married to Lucino D. Delfin, Jr. M.D. He finished his training at the East Avenue Medical Center. Aside from being a diplomate of the Philippine Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, Cin is the chairman of the OB-Gyn department of Saint Anthony College Hospital. They have two kids, William Benedict (Liam for short) age 3 and Emmanuel John (EJ for short) age 1 1/2. Tina is expecting a third one this January 1999. Guess who is going to be her OB !
We would like to thank Tina and her family for their contributions to this section. more power to you ! - the WEBMASTERS [posted 9/14/98]
