Welcome to Vera and Lori's Wedding Page!

"The Big Day" has come and gone.  It was soooo much fun!  The wedding day went perfect, there's no other word to describe it.  Everything flowed so smoothly!  The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining it was warm but not too hot (we had been having a record breaking heat wave the days prior to the wedding) .  All of our vendors (minister, photographer, DJ, florist, bakery) were on time.  Both of us looked "simply marvelous".  The best was that, everyone seemed to be having the time of their life. Both of our families genuinely liked each other.  One of the highlights was that our photographer said that she NEVER cries at weddings because she likes to stay emotionally distant from them so that she can focus on doing her job, but she cried at ours.

We had so many people come up to us and say that this was the best wedding ceremony they had ever been to.  I'm sure every one hears that at their wedding, but the people who said this were people who have very recently paid for their own child's/children's wedding(s).  So we were both very flattered, and felt that all of our hard work over the past 11 months have been worth it!

I truly believe that what helped make this ceremony so special was because it was a lesbian wedding.  Many people arrived not knowing what to expect and what we showed them was that 2 women getting married is no different then a man and a woman getting married, as a result we got quite a bit of respect and support.   Both of our parents set examples of being so proud of the two of us and so there was just soooo much support exuding from every person there that people just let go and had a great time.  It really felt like everyone checked any homophobia they had at the door and just let loose.  Lori's mom and dad were out there on the dance floor pogo dancing to "Whip It". Lori's mom was swing dancing with one of our 'dyke' friends.  Vera's mom was salsa dancing with any one who would keep up with her.  Of course everyone fell in love with Lori's 3 year old niece who was also one of the long standing movers and a shakers on the dance floor. By the end of the day she was sacked out, snoring in her father's arms.

If you are having any doubts about having your own weddnig, we say JUST DO IT!  The great thing is that once it becomes legal, you can do it again! Twice the fun for just one relationship!
