Here are some pictures and thoughts of the new trail that was built and adopted by 4X4XNW over on Shoestring. |

Above: This picture REALLY does not tell the tale. I am actually in-between two 15 foot tall rocks that you have to shimmy in-between to get through - it is MUCH tighter than it looks here. I am smiling because I just about wet myself moments before this was taken. I got a tire about 4 feet in the air.. the camera woman was slow with the trigger. Just about everybody lifted a tire three feet to get through here. It was definitely the most fun obstacle I have been over. Below: Winding our way through the ravine. |

Above: the entrance to the new trail. What you can't see from camera angle is that the entire entrance to the trail you are straddling a crevace with a couple of Jeep sized holes to drive through - that would be interesting in the snow... Below: Peter Bracchi and I posing... |

Above: Just about to enter another cravace to straddle. Below: Going through and up another crevace. The rocks are starting to get bigger. Even with 36" Swampers, I was hitting the undercarriage in a few spots. Peter also helped that by turning up a few big rocks for me ;-) |

Above: me being a poser and thinking this would be a better photo than it was.. Below: This is the spot where you are in-between the two fifteen foot tall rocks. You can't see it, but to the left is a wall that I am turning away from. Also, on the other side of my Jeep is the other rock that of course, you cannot see. This photo also shows that 36's do fit into a TJ fender quite well and that my bump stop extensions are working well. |
