SWFFL Week One Report

Ain't we got fun?  Well, it has begun and there were some great finishes out there and here in Fantasyland.  It's great to be back and running through the box scores.  Remember all scores listed in the Report are unofficial.  Read on, enjoy and have a great week.

Game of the Week - Duh Patriots vs. Armchair Qb
This match up featured huge games by running backs, Preist Holmes and Travis Henry scoring 28 and 23 respectively.  Looking at the lineups in this one, you would almost think these guys could have topped a hundred with Culpepper and Staley in the mix, but that's why we play the game.  Cleveland displayed a horrible defense and the call goes to the booth to Bench em, Ken.  Armchair wins it 72-66.

The Hounds 39-37 snafus SNAFU.
If ever there were a SNAFU it occurred on Monday Night.  Going into the game SNAFU trails 31-39.  Turf has Smith going in at RB and SNAFU has Stewart at QB.  It's looking good for SNAFU.  Smith is blanked for the evening, no points and Stewart has two touchdowns. SNAFU wins 43-39…oh but 3 picks settles him at 37-39. Tough break.

Tornado Squeeze the Krush 58-42.
The second game decided Monday night was a wild one. Now this is a little confusing so bear with me.  And Ryan you should feel a little poor about this one.  The Tornado start Couch, who does not play. Brooks steps in and scores 13.  Bettis scores a doughnut for the Tornado and Burris a doughnut for the Krush.  If Couch takes one snap, and Green Bay kept Atlanta under 30 for the Krush, the game would have ended in a tie.  But rules are rules and Brooks plays and the Tornado win it 58-42.

Floggers Bag the Greats 58-13.
Brutal to see a former champion score 13 from 2 players.  I don't expect to see this again anytime soon. We've all been around any given Sunday.  Good showing by the Floggers getting 12 from the Miami D.  Look for these guys to make a mark this season.

Pistols Dodge a Bullet 36-25 against All Johnson.
When is the last time Warner put up 5 points, or Owens and Freeman put up zilch.  Well it happened this weekend and the Pistols get an easy one against a stacked all Johnson.  Pistols first round trade for McNabb paid little dividends in this one, but the victory is his and he'll savor it, if I know him from Adam.

Turbo Jets blow by Terminal 10 58-46.
With even scoring from all players the Turbo Jets move to 1-0.  I expect the Jets to continue to climb to the top of the division without too much ado.  Look for Duh Patriots and Turbo in a showdown at the end of the season.

Lawless Ones Give the Phantoms a Scooby Snack, 46-30.
The Lawless Ones didn't know what to expect especially from Brian Griese going into this one, but he managed a couple td's, which was enough to get by the Phantoms.  Even with no production from the receiving core he managed to hang on.  Expect some changes in the coming weeks if things do not improve in that department.  The Phantoms are going to need a little more from Moss and Smith if he is going to compete in the Desert Division.
