The Dune Buggy

Starting in January 2002 A few friends and I embarked on an adventure that I hope will bring about a new era in customization projects.. no more will young kids dream or having a rice burning rocket like is depicted in " The Fast and the Furious". but instead they will strive to own and give their own personality to a 'Dune Buggy'

Over the next few weeks I hope to have some early pictures of the restoration of a dune buggy that has been in my family for longer than I have.

The Frame (All welding done by Steve Danly)

Clean up frame. 02/21/02
Weld frame seams to strengthen them0606/28/02
Weld all holes in frame closed06/28/02
Primer frame with Anti-rust paint
Paint frame with Hammered Steel Tremclad Paint
Paint frame bottom with under-coating
Clean and paint front suspension

The Body

Remove lights and other hardware 02/19/02
Counter-sink all holes and start misc. bodywork
Fill all holes with body filler
Sand car
Primer car with polyester primer
Sand primer
Deliver to paint shop
