General
information about the team
How
it all started
New St George Morris
are still "new kids on
the block" in morris terms: the team was formed in March 1998. At the
time, a number of experienced dancers and a few enthusiastic newcomers were
looking for somewhere to strut their stuff, so it seemed logical to start a
new group. The new team performed in public for the first time on St George's
Day, April 23rd 1999.
After this beginning,
rather than waiting for May 1st, which is the "official"
start of the dancing season, we dance out for the first time each year on St
George's Day.
We think that dancing the
Morris is fun, and that dancing it well is brilliant fun... especially with
such a nice bunch of people!
Get your kit on!
This kit is worn by all
members when dancing out, including George the Teddy Bear (visit the Scrapbook page for pictures of
George… and the dragons!)

Where
does it all happen?
Members of the team travel from many far-flung places to practices:
The Vale of Belvoir
Stamford
Melton Mowbray
Grantham
Newark
Lincoln
Nottingham
Derby
They must be out of their far-flung trees!
(…but no-one from Bottesford!
Weird!)
If you're interested in getting involved, email us using the sidebar link! It's
fun, easy and good for you!!

We practice in the small dining room at Belvoir High School in Bottesford,
Leicestershire
on Wednesday evenings from 8pm till 10pm.
This is usually followed by the consumption of beer, etc. at the
Bull Inn!
We generally perform in the local area but will travel to wherever
there's a good do!
We are associated with many other morris sides across the country as
well as those in our neighbourhood. There are some links to these good
people's cyber-patches on the links page.
