INTERVIEW WITH THE CREATOR OF THIS SITE
Ok, so it's not Interview with the Vampire....
Who are you, how did you get here, and where do you live?
Good question. Here's a short autobiography: I'm Julia, I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and I came to the U.S. when I was 9. I live in Columbus, Ohio.
Yeah, yeah. So, how old are you?
Ah, the age question. I'm 16. My birthday is on September 29th.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I'll expand on these later, but here some of my..."hobbies": reading, writing(rarely finishing what I start), music, drawing, movies, tennis.
Do you do these things during the night or during the day?
Night. My favorite time is around 2 or 3 am. I'm the only one awake and I feel like I can accomplish anything.
Well, do you accomplish everything?
Um... No. Which brings us to writing. I write (or try to write) short stories. I get a beginning going, and then I loose interest or get stuck.
Let's talk about these "hobbies" of yours.
Sure. I'll start with music. I guess my favorite kind of music is alternative (even though pretty much everything gets grouped under alternative now), and I like some classical. I listen to Tori Amos, Rasputina, Sarah McLachlan, Joy Division, Garbage, Fiona Apple, Concrete Blonde, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis Morissette, Beethoven, etc. Lately I've been listening to Closer by Joy Division, Recollection by Concrete Blonde, and the Amadeus Soundtrack.
How about books?
I'll read pretty much anything, except trashy romance novels. Some of my favorite books are The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Sleepwalking by Meg Wolitzer, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, Misery and The Stand by Stephen King, The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.
Favorite movies?
Yep, I have those too. I like dramas. I like comedies. I really like artsy/foreign films like Jane Eyre and The Governess. Other favorites are Immortal Beloved, Amadeus, Interview with the Vampire, Titanic, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Les Miserables(1998), Moscow on the Hudson.
Enough about hobbies. Do you like living in Ohio?
Hell no. But then again, I've never met anyone who like where they live. My favorite cities are New York and (not surprisingly) New Orleans.
Ok. So you're stuck in Ohio for now. Do you have any future plans?
Indeed, I do. I plan to go to college but I really don't know what I want to major in. I also want to become fluent in French and learn Italian someday.
Do you like 18th century France?
Of course! I like all things historical, and the late 18th century is my favorite time period. It fits in well with my belief that modern clothing should be banned, and all males should wear poet's shirts. More about that later.
Um... Whatever. Do you have anything else to say?
Sure. I'll list some other things that I like and/or love: my computer, Earl Grey tea, fan fiction, Brad Pitt, magazines,New York City, Saturday Night Live, men in 18th century clothing (poets shirts!), cappuccino, bookstores, the internet, candles, rain, thunderstorms.
What don't you like?
Many things as well. Stay tuned for a nice long list.
Wait! How come you didn't talk about (insert whatever I didn't mention here)?
Well, you can't have everything. Just remember, I thrive on e-mail,
so feel free to drop me a line.
<-----This is me. Well, no, actually it's Tina the Troubled Teen.
She's 14, listens to Switchblade
Symphony, cuts geography class, and smokes cloves when no adults are
around. Tina always has a new smart mouthed, negative, or tormented
thing to say to you every day.
