Ana Flavia Corujo

Ana Flavia came to us in January 1995, stayed  for 5 months, and returned to Brazil in June, 1995. She was from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  Ana was a 15 year old when she came to stay.

During her stay here in Baton Rogue she attended Central High school as a junior (grade 11).

Ana  is  friendly, outgoing and made friends easily, enjoying going places with them, especially to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans. While attending Central High, she played on the school's tennis team, earning a lettermen's jacket.

Ana told me that the most enjoyable part of her stay was her "surprise" party for her 16th birthday. To watch Ana develop into a young women was a privildege for us.

One of the most enjoyable aspects about Ana's stay was that her parents came to visit us. Ana was able to visit different parts of America and Canada, she spent a week in the hills of Tennessee and , along with her parents, visited New York City and then to Toronto, Canada. She was a very special part of our family and we love her and miss her.

Landmarks of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Much of the city of Rio de Janeiro, in southeastern
Brazil, lies between mountains and water. The massive
statue known as Christ the Redeemer, right, tops
Corcovado Mountain. The statue, built to commemorate
Brazil's first 100 years of independence from Portugal,
seems to gaze over the city toward Sugarloaf Mountain,
a bare granite rock rising out of Guanabara Bay.
