Jimmy started flying when he was still in college, soloed with only 5 hrs. at English's Flying Service in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, but never got his license. He started and stopped several times, and on the day after his 39th birthday was sitting in the cockpit of a brand new Lake Renegade 250, before he got his pilots license. This trivia question is a simple one. What did he name the plane? |

In the winter of '71, Jimmy flew into Miami for the third time. This time, as he called it, was the "charmer". He left out of Nashville in rainy, 31degree weather. He was broke, in the midst of a divorce with his career on ice, and a cracked front tooth. Four hours later, after Jerry Jeff Walker picked him up from the airport, he was sitting under a cluster of royal palms with a slight breeze coming in over Biscayne bay, barefoot, in shorts and t-shirt, drinking ice-cold beer, and eating lobster salad. The question is, what did Jerry Jeff call his 1947 burgundy Packard? |
