98-9-27 Letter Minneapolis Star & Tribune refused to print!

Dear Editor,

As a Virginian from Minnesota, I'm struck with the differing
opinions regarding Clinton in our two states. A majority of
Virginians, including our Congressman (Bateman), Newspapers
(Daily Press) and Miss America (Virginia) have gone beyond
disgust and have called for Clinton's resignation/impeachment.

As I recall, I saw you recently on National TV stating Minnesotan's
focused more on Judge Starr than on Clinton's perjury, coverup
and self-indulgent, sick behavior. This seems to contradict
Minnesotans' core values of honesty, truthful openness and
integrity. I expected Minnesotans to find Clinton's behavior
reprehensible, just as we do in Thomas Jefferson's state.

Although many call for it, Clinton may refuse to resign until
he sees 67 Senators speak up as Democrats Joe Lieberman and
former President Jimmy Carter have. Perhaps this is a blessing
in disguise, as perhaps with more time the views of our entire
country (Virginians and Minnesotans alike) may coalesce,
just as they did with the Watergate deception and cover-up.

Thank you for considering an "opposing view"

P.S. Many think impeachment means removal from office - it is
simply a charge by the House.
