THE UNDIVIDED REALITY AND THE APPARITIONAL UNIVERSE

by JOHN DOBSON

Founder of the San Francisco Sidewalk Astronomers. Twice a guest on the Johnny Carson Show.

Featured on the PBS special series The Astronomers. Inventor of the Dobsonian Telescope mount.

Have you ever wondered how to make a universe from a cloud of hydrogen? Ever wondered how to get the hydrogen in the first place? Find out the answers to both questions by attending this series of lectures by John Dobson.

A gifted teacher, John Dobson will share his view of the universe in classes at three different locations during January and February of 1997. These three series of classes are designed to acquaint you with the nature of the universe and to help you understand matter, energy, space, time, gravity, electricity, and magnetism. His specialty is seeing the philosophical meaning behind quantum mechanics and relativity theory. He also has an alternative view to the Big Bang cosmological model. Some of the questions he answers are:

What are apparitional and transformational causation? What is the modern equivalent to the five elements of antiquity?

What is the philosophical significance of Einstein's equation of separation, S= x2 - t2 , and E=mc2

What does Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle tell us about the nature of our universe?

Are there any philosophical reasons why our universe exhibits the law of gravity and the property of inertia and be made up of electrical particles?

Is there an explanation of the 3oK background radiation other than the Big Bang?

How did the universe get like it is and how did we evolve to the point of wondering about it?

What do we get when we mistake the infinite, undivided, unchanging Reality for something else? How does this show in our physics?

Topics will include:

From Hydrogen and Gravity to Galaxies and Stars The Birth, Growth, and Terminal Ailments of Stars

Slides, Tides, Plants, and People Space and Time as Opposites

Heisenberg's Breath of Uncertainty From the Borders of the Universe

Apparitional Causation
