The DOS TACTCOM upgrade for EF2k will not be available in the USA / Canada due too GTE getting out of software distribution, (this is true even now Jan18/98) ,OCEAN USA is still distributing but only the Nth American VER.2.0 (EF2000 and TC in ONE box with the Graphics plus patch ).......check out my link to

got my tactcom upgrade though you do have to buy the official strategy guide
too, if you dont want or need the guide try one of the other UK mailorder

The 3DFX Patch (Rendition too) is out there , all 9.5 megs of it ! , so those of you with the dos version of EF2000 (version 1) and the Tactcom (TC) upgrade can download it and enjoy ,the frame rates are great , it's worth the download if you have a 3DFX card and it runs from Win 95 too !
The North American Version 2.0 of EF2000 is now out in stores , and i beleive it has ALL current versions of EF2000 in the box including TC and the 3DFX/Rendition patch. Correct me if I'm wrong .. : )
Only the dos version
of TC / EF2000 (ie: not Super EF2000) will be able to run the 3dfx chipset graphics patch ,this
is apparently due to a problem that might arise if a person had both the DOS EF2k / Tactcom and the Super EF2k versions and a conflict in the 3dfx drivers for dos and windows.
DID now has on there web site both an EF2000 theme (for the win95 plus
pack)and WALLPAPERS for use with windows
95 as well as patches for the french and german versions of super ef2000 and tactcom Click on the link if you want to see them here on my wallpapers page..great images.
The version of CS Commander
(windows based TM programming application)that is included with the TC upgrade disk is not a full
version , you can only use their one Ef2000 file and you cant print it out either
,to find out the commands.The full version is available from
Simtech or Online Stores like Flightsim Central in the USA
Dont forget to check out DID'S site to see the lastest on their new F22 sim , F22 ADF ....looks great , though not officially released in Nth America till Feb. 28th ,98 i have seen it at Electronic Boutique and CompuCentre Stores here in Canada and with an upgrade disk out 1st Q '98' it could be 'the' air combat sim of the year .
