About
the NEP1's Special Training
&
Education Program Services Inc.,
in order
for us to fulfill our mission, the
following
objectives must be met:
It is
our aim to raise the economic, educational
and
social levels of specific individuals within
Northern
California, who are substantially
unemployed
or underemployed. To
expand
opportunities available; to
obtain
low cost housing accommodations;
alternative
living arrangements; adequate
professional
help; and management
skills
necessary for the successful
performance
of employment and / or
the
operations of business enterprises.
We intend
to further enhance these
objectives
by providing ongoing training to
senior
citizens in the operation of
personal
computers. This will
allow
many men, women and children
that
are disabled or confined to
their
homes to have the benefit of being
independent,
researching for information, for
self-education
in a wide variety of topics, and
for
shopping for specific personal needs that are
provided
in NEP 1 Services and in other sites.
We want
to be the solution to the problems and needs
of our
disabled and handicapped men, women and children.
We are
periodically checking for information that will meet the demands of their
lifestyle, and we want to accomodate and reassure them that we care.
We know that being permanently disabled or handicapped is not easy.
By staying on top of the latest news and information, NEP 1 can serve as
a reliable source for the community, and hopefully, will ease some of the
burdens of their daily lives. By keeping us informed, there is a
"Feedback & Suggestions Form" to this NEP 1 Site. We would like
to hear from anyone, should you have any questions, suggestions, and/or
problems. We truly hope that we can serve this particular community
and others, and hopefully, be an example for future communities to help
the handicapped, needy and disabled.
We currently
provide online streaming of various
world
Radio & Television Programming using the
Windows
Media Player for ease of use for a
handicapped
person, as well as for the general user.
Our
hope and our dream is to offer a housing facility for
them,
and to offer fun and educational programs
to take
place. We also think it is important that the
Center
be run by people with disabilities and
to generate
our own funding to support it.
(Special
thanks to Semore in San Mateo)
Sincerely,
Mary Tanasy
