The Artemis Ensemble was founded in 1990 in Vienna by Deborah Gonsalves und Berthold Hamburger.
Since then it has had several performances in Europe as a piano trio, but also in other instrumentations. In spring 1994, the Ensemble visited India on a concert tour under the auspices of the Austrian Foreign Ministry and the Austrian Ministry for Education and Arts.The repertoire extends over violin and cello sonatas, piano trios and pieces for string ensemble.The ensemble has 3 permanent members, who regularly perform as a piano trio and is extended by guest members, when needed.
