Procedure
Participants for this study were found by using three different technology related listservs. The listservs used for the study were chosen due to their technology-related discussion topics. The surveys were distributed to the listservs EDTECH, LM_NET, and DESENET during the months of July and August of 1998. Respondents were all considered to be technology coordinators, administrators in charge of technology, or the persons in charge of all technology at the district.
Statistical Treatment
The survey requested information from each of the participants that included geographic location, and enrollment of the school district. The data was tabulated and reported as percentages based on geographic location. Information collected also included a salary question which was optional.
