The most notable feature in this area is the largest mountain in the Solar System, Olympus Mons. Like all volcanoes on Mars this one is not (yet?) active. Due to it's gentle slope you need to take a plane to see this giant in all it's majesty. Or you could go dining in the stratospheric restaurant in Kenwood, with ten kilometers the tallest manmade structure on the planet, after the space elevator.
East of Olympus Mons are the foothills of the Tharsis Bulge, to the west are the friendly subtropical regions of Wesomo, New Nippon and Amazonis, where many Martians have their second homes. Nozomi with around three million inhabitants is the second largest city on the planet; another major city is Olympus Basecamp, host to the biannual Martian Olympics.
The largest suspension bridge in the known universe spans the 40 kilometers between the mainland and Surveyor, the southernmost of the Iles Elysees.
Geor is the first summer month on the northern hemisphere, when the tourist season starts in the hill station of Leuk Uitzicht, beautifully located on a ridge at 2000 meters above Olympic sealevel.
