I'm just an overgrown kid at heart with too much time on my hands!!! That's a quick summary of why I created these web pages.
The Vertibird was my most awesome toy and I played with it for hours and hours when I was a kid. My fondest Vertibird memory was when I was flying and my cat Mac would swat the rotor blades. It didn't hurt him of course, but it seemed he had just as much fun with the Vertibird as I did. It eventually succumbed to the old "broken spring" problem. After it broke, I remember I attached the Vertibird controller to one end of a hockey stick, slapped a Cox TD049 model airplane engine to the other end and made a weed eater! Not bad for mid 70's technology, eh?
My next waste of time projects are going to be a "Virtual Vertibird" you can play with on your computer (I would like to learn Direct3D programming), and maybe an Airplane attachment for the unit created by the Vertibird project. That's my 10 year plan anyway...
