What to do and what not to do
The most important reminders in 1 list

Here is a summary of the most important things you have to keep in mind when flying on Amsterdam Schiphol Airport:

You should always:

- Report passing 2000ft to DEP (121.200/119.050), Schiphol Tower will NOT give a handover
- Report clear of the active landing runway to GND (121.700/121.800), Schiphol Tower will NOT give a handover
- Plan your flight according to SIDs/STARs
- Comply with your instructions first, readback thereafter
- Mention your gate number at initial contact on Delivery, Startup and Ground
- Inform Delivery if you have no SID's available (stupid you, they're free for download!!) or if you are unable to fly it
- Try to switch to a new channel as soon as possible after a handover
- Try to use voice (Roger Wilco) first before typing on text
- Check the ATIS Schiphol Departure when holding short, to make sure the IP address is correct. This way you can
switch to your new channel very quick.
- Use some kind of FMC, otherwise it's getting too difficult and busy, unless you're a real pilot
- Try to fly and login as realistic as possible using real flight information from the Schiphol Homepage.

You should never:

- Logout immideately after landing. Do you want your passengers to disembark at the runway?
- Line up the runway before you were cleared to by Schiphol Tower.
- Switch to the other GND frequency on own descretion when passing the area of responsibility,
even when there are 2 GND stations active
- Annoy ATC with questions about the intial climb altitude (FL060) or transition altitude (3000ft),
   it's all in your charts.
- Pause your flight when airborne! Maybe you don't realize this, but there might be an aircraft sequence
behind you. If it is really necessary to pause FS, ask ATC for permission first.
