The easiest way to Identify a 727 is it is the only medium sized jet with three rear-mounted engines, and the only boeing airliner with a T-Tail. The workhorse of the modern-day fleet. The Boeing 737. These effecient, relatively cheap planes are the most common small-medium jet sighted in the United States. More than 8 variants of the 737 exist today. The earliest being the 737-100, still in use today. The newest variant is the 737-800, somewhat larger than the other 737's, like the one above. There are four variants of the 747, the 747-100 being the smallest, the 747-400 being the largest. The United States Air Force posesses a 747-200, in the form of Air Force One. The newer, faster, larger, Continental Boeing 757-200 - A very attractive plane for the next generation airline, it provides range, effciency, and safety. This plane is shown shortly after take-off from Houston Intercontinental Airport, Texas. The easiest way to identify the 757 from it's big brother, the 767 is by the width and size of the fuselage. The 757's fuselage is long and skinny, unlike the short and stubby 767 variants. The 757 has a capability of carrying 185 passengers or more in a domestic configuration. The 757 has three variants, the 757-200F ( Freighter ), 757-200, and the 757-300, a stretched version.
The newer, faster, an yet larger, big brother to the 757, the 767-400, which comes in 4 versions, the newest being the 767-400, produced in 2000, boasting better fuel economy, larger seating, and more complex systems than prior aircraft, the 767 is a medium to long haul aircraft with range enough to do interconinental and ocean crossing flights. A Typical route for the 767-300, 767-400 would be Newark International to London Heathrow, Los Angeles to Honolulu, or Honolulu to Tokyo.
