Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The speedway was busy everyday with tests and trials for the upcoming Memorial Day race.  Spectators were present everyday.  There were parking problems but some attendants allowed us to park our camper adjacent to an area that was used for bus loadings.

Speedway History

Constructed nearly one hundred years ago, amazingly, the track still serves with today's racing technology.

Being about three weeks prior to the Indianapolis 500 race,cars were being tested and qualified for post positions.

This is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.  It is located within the infield of the racing oval.

These vehicles are designed not only for race car transit but also serve as quarters, equipment storage, repair facilities, and offices.

These vehicles are lined up with hoods up, exhibiting their finest polish and lack of even fingerprints even under the hood.

This is the first Winston Cup stock car to be placed in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum
