Once upon a time I was living in the lovely town Würzburg, the capital of Lower Franconia. This is also the place where I was born, grew up, went to school, and so on. Then I spent several years in Göttingen (April 1993 - July 1996) and in Arlington, MA (September 1996 - November 2000). After that I was living below sea level in a cozy town named Utrecht (December 2000 - October 2004). Actually, that's not quite correct: Utrecht is on a hill (just in case you haven't noticed...). In October 2004 I moved to Mainz. During my master's thesis I was forced to spend some time at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Well, that was a walk in the park compared to the three weeks I stayed in College Park, MD (probably the least exciting town of the east coast) during my Ph.D.

I'm a proud citizen of the Euroland. However, I didn't mind getting paid in US-Dollars between 1996 and 2000.
