Yes, I've been in assorted bands since 1992, my freshman year in High School. However, besides music, I do write the occasional story or poem. Check 'em out here.

Brian's Meteorology Background

On May 7, 1999, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. I am now pursuing a Master's Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I will be working with Dr. John Norman doing some research into the interaction between the land and the atmosphere. I will be working with Dr. Greg Tripoli as well. As of right now, we hope to implement a more accurate computer model of vegetation into an operational forecast model. Check this page for updates!

Some of you may say, "Why study weather?" My interest in weather has been continuous since I was a mini-kid (3 or 4 to be exact). In my hometown of Escanaba, MI, there is a variety of phenomena from severe thunderstorms to unbelievable blizzards. My childhood was full of interesting happenings. We lived on the outskirts of the town (well they were the outskirts when I lived there) next to a large forested area. A large hill near our house allowed us to watch anything that came in from the west. Let's just say I spent a heck of a lot of time outside when I was young watching the weather.

Except for that year when I wanted to be a truck driver, I've always wanted to study weather. Now I'm getting the chance to explore some of the mysteries of weather in school. I'm thankful to God for giving me the ability to study what I love.

Brian's Insanity Background

This needs a lot of explanation, as you know there's plenty of Insanity to go around if you've ever been on this website. I think it all began somewhere in middle school... Let's just say Catholic School was an interesting way to grow up. If you haven't been through it, you don't know what it's like! Through various coincidences and moving across town, I met up with quite a few other people who were just as demented as me. You may know some of them, as they pop up along these pages quite often.

I also think heredity had something to do with it. Both of my parents come from families with plenty of humor in them. From my Uncle's neverending puns to my Mom's support of Ungaball and Puppy-plexes, I grew up among people who didn't discourage a little humor (OK, a LOT of humor). Even when things go bad (as they kinda have recently), I've tried to keep a humorous and optimistic outlook on things.

When I stumbled upon Geocities in Late 1996, after snagging my first computer, I immediately became addicted to working on webpages. It was fun, and a good way to share laughs with people everywhere. It still is, and IC will continue far into the 21st century if I have anything to do about it!
