The GS500E is a calm, simple and strong motorcycle with a medium
cylinder capacity.
This motorcycle is very easy to drive; this fact permits to get
experience in driving it gradually.
The engine is strong, with easy maintenance and pleasant feel,
specially between 5000 and 8000 rpm.
Moreover, the chassis is modern and very effective.
If you take care of your motorcycle and you use it reasonably, it will
have a long life.
Usually, manufacturers are very optimistic about the features of
their motorcycles, as they do not provide all the information that we
are interested in. There is no problem.
Here, you have the real features of the GS500E, taken from a new
concret model of motorcycle.
Although all the motorcycles of a specific model are identical, you
must take into account that there can be some differences between
specific motorcycles.
Usually, in new motorcycles there are variations of about 5% in power,
speed, etc...
If the motorcycle is not new, the values will depend on the way you
have taken care of it until now (running in, revisions, current
conditions, etc...).
However, do not take this values literally.
Here there is the power graphic of the engine:
Here is a possible maintenance plan for your GS500E, this plan is an extension of the one that Suzuki proposes, and it does not pretend to be exhaustive, that is, not all the elements that maybe will have to be revised during the motorcycle live are present.
Most of the operations to be done are control ones, and the only maintenance is to check that everything is working properly. When you detect a problem, you must repair it. This is the most difficult part and a person with the appropiate knowledge and material must do it.
The plan is structured depending on the kilometres you have done:
Every 500 Km: The operations that the own user must do are easy, and are explained in the users manual. If you do not use your motorcycle a lot, you will have to do this control more often, specially you will have to control the tires and the battery. Performing these easy operations will save you from unpleasant surprises.
Every 6000/12000 Km: These operations are more complex because you need some knowledge about mechanics and, in some cases, special tools. The more difficult operations are marked with (*).
