The celebrated Pixie II Transceiver has been built and analyzed by thousands of hams around the world. The gang on theQRP-L Internet Mailing Listand in theNorcal QRP Clubhave been building, operating, redesigning and generally having fun with this tiny transceiver for some time. With only three active components, you can have a workable CW transceiver. Add a couple more for offset, audio filter and other popular options. |
Since posting (30 October, 1997), there have been hits on my directory. |

This page is not intended to be a total resource for the Pixie II transceiver, but a starting point and clearing house for those interested in this little beauty. Here you will find schematics, board layouts, links to other pages and personal experiences with the Pixie II. |

The simplicity of this circuit allows hams just beginning in scratch-building or kit-building to throw together a useable rig. The flexibility of the design allows for experiments and changing for most any HF band. |

With no further ado, here's the Pixie II! |
Frank Matthews, KC4FKX, made a new layout for the Pixie II above, with the addition of two capacitors (C12 & C 13 between the crystal (X1) and ground. The capacitors are switched out through a SPDT switch to provide an offset. I have not tried this layout yet, but he says it works ok. Please let me know if you use it, and I'll post your comments here. |
