XX-34 BADGER, part of Operation Upshot-Knothole, was a 23 kiloton tower shot fired April 18, 1953 at the Nevada Test Site. |

NF-12187 Sedan Crater was formed when a 100 kt. Explosive buried under 635 feet of desert alluvium was fired at the NTS on July 6, 1962, displacing 12 million tons of earth. The crater is 320 feet deep and 1,280 feet in diameter. |

XX-12 GRABLE was fired on May 25, 1953 at the Nevada Test Site. A 280mm artillery gun fired the 15 kiloton nuclear shell. This was the only time a nuclear artillery shell was ever fired. |
