Deanna Durbin; movie star and singer from 1936 to
1948, when she gave it all up and moved to Paris where she married the Director of her
film "Lady on a Train." She still lives in Paris and celebrated her 75th
birthday in December 1996.
She made one film, "Every Sunday" for MGM with Judy Garland. She was picked up by Universal Studio and her first movie "Three Smart girls" saved Universal from bankruptcy. She made twenty more films for Universal and her first screen kiss from Robert Stack in "First Love" caused more publicity than Liz Taylor's wedding to Richard Burton.
I have taken the songs from 12
of her films and put them on one video tape so you can see and hear a two-hour concert of
Deanna Durbin. Send an e-mail if you are interested and mention the tape of Deanna Durbin.
