Most Christians hear the voice of God every single day but they refuse to believe that it is Him, because it doesn't trump down from heaven or come with the burning bush. God speaks to a man through his spirit, through his heart into the thoughts of his mind. Satan speaks to men through the flesh into the mind in thoughts. Ever wonder why right in the middle of something great you would have to stop and have some terrible thought. Maybe it wasn't your thought; maybe your enemy placed it there.
I wanted to share some of the ways God communicates with me hoping some of you would share as well. Maybe we will all learn something beneficial?
Where all Christians should start and the easiest way to hear God.
We know that God has left us His written Word in testimony to His love for us, His plans for us, His guidance for us, but most importantly this Word is 2000+ pages of the Most Frequently Asked Questions and Answers In the Universe. Every sentence in the Bible has the correct answer to thousands of Questions. These words touch the very soul of man, and Jesus called them the living word of God. He said, that these living words would never die, "all things would pass away but His words would never die", "nor would they return to Him void". Therefore, to seek an answer by searching the living word of God with your question is the easiest way to hear the voice of the living God. I also believe that every Christian should start and end their day with time in the Word, giving God every opportunity to communicate with them day and night.
As I began to seek God I found that I could hear God in Many ways.
Sometimes a scripture will continually come up, when I read, when I watch TV, in conservations with others and sometimes even on signs on the side of the road. I have learned to carry my bible with me for this very reason, for I recognize that prompting as being God trying to communicate with me. He has given me the answers to numerous questions that way. It always makes me feel like I am very special to Him when He communicates with me personally in this way.
By far the most constant contact I have with God other than the Word has been through my children and Grandchildren. Because of my love for them He has made me understand His Love for me. He has taught me many things I have needed for life through the interactions with my children. But I have learned more about God trying to answer their questions than another way.
Just remember these things.
God and satan both speak to us in thoughts, and it is our place to spend enough time in the word in order to distinguish between the two, Jesus said my sheep know my voice and they will follow no other.
The Living Word of God should be the beginning and ending place for every day, so that we continually keep the word of God in our mouths and our hearts. The words for every prayer we need to pray be found in the word of God.
When you have some terrible thought, don't try to analyze the reason or think you are a bad person, rebuke the enemy and fill your mouth with the words of God. When you have a good thought praise God and thank Him.
