Veyenno-Vozdushnyye Sily - The VVS -Soviet Airforce
The world owes a lot to the Soviet Airforce, military and her peoples. Had they surrendered or negotiated a separate peace after the onslaught in June of 1941, World War Two may well have turned out differently. Nazi Germany would have turned against the British with the full force of its military and had the time and resources to fully develop the technologically superior equipment that surfaced just at wars end with the V2 rockets & jet fighters with wire guided missles. America was still unready, factories that would turn out 50,000 aircraft in one year did not exist until 1943. The Soviet peoples sacrifices bought the West precious time and in the end the combined efforts of all the Allied nations divided the Axis resources, resulting in their defeat.
