Seminole County Drug Dog's
and their Handlers'

K-9 detection has been a part of the Seminole County Sheriffs Office since 1987. Seminole County Sheriffs Office had the first drug and cadaver (dead body) dog in the county and one of very few in the surrounding counties. Smokey is trained to sniff out drugs and dead bodies. He also has been very successfull in tracking. Smokey is a dedicated K-9 and has worked well in the state of Oklahoma. Yes, he has even been called to worked out of state. Many surrounding agencies in and out of state has called   upon the Seminole County Sheriffs Office for Smokey to help in drug and dead body detection. Smokey was even called to the Bombing site in Oklahoma city, where he and his handler worked a full week. Again Smokey did his job very well. Smokey is now twelve years old and still lives with his handler.

Deputy Abbiss has a new younger dog for drug detection. His name is Joki. Joki is a two year old German Shepherd and he is a very well trained K-9. Joki is also a handler protective K-9. He is traind to attact on command and protect his handler if he is being assaulted. Joki is the new addion to the Seminole County Sheriffs office and , just like Smokey he will be a great asset to the department.
