Seminole County Sheriff's Office

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is located within the Seminole County Court House at 110 South Wewoka Street, Wewoka , Oklahoma.

The Sheriffs Office has several objectives the first of which is to provide the highest quality Law enforcement available to the citizens of Seminole County. To quickly and efficiently execute court related and civil summons , and to provide a sevice to the community which reflects a professional image of the Sheriffs Office.

Law enforcement is more than a job, it is a profession. Employees of the Seminole County Sheriff's Office are dedicated to serving and helping the citizens of Seminole County. The application process for both full and part time positions includes an extensive background investigation and is designed to recruit quality Sheriff Office employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Certified Deputy - 21 years of age.
    Jailer & Part time Positions - 18 years of age.
  2. High School diploma or GED.
  3. Reside in Seminole County within 90 days of employment.
  4. Pass background investigation.
  5. Weight in proportion to height.
  6. Vision - Corrected distant vision 20/20 in each eye.
  7. Successfully pass a physical/medical examination within as established by the sheriff's office.
  8. Successfully pass a drug screening examination.
  9. Successfully pass the MMPI psychological examination within 3 months of employment.
  10. Meet identity requirements as required by federal law.


APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. The first step of the process begins by completing an application for employment. You may pick up an employment application btween the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 Monday through Friday at the sheriff's office. You should carefully and thoughtfully complete the application. You may include your resume with your application. Include with your application a statement of your career goals and why you wish to be a Seminole County Sheriff's Office employee. Also, attach a copy of your current drivers license and social security card, or other recognized identity documents.
  2. You may have 3 letters of reference written in your behalf and attached to the application.
  3. You must have a certified copy of your high school and any college transcripts.
