This is the Brown family. There is myself, my wife Sue, our three adult children, Aaron, Rachel and Sarah, and three wonderful grand children, Keegan, Nerys and Caleb our latest.
We live in the City of Redcliffe just north of Brisbane in sunny Queensland, Australia, on the shores of beautiful Moreton Bay. We moved here in 1989 from the Blue Mountains west of Sydney in NSW and love the relaxed warm lifestyle of south east Queensland As family we love reading and movies and are Star Trek fans from way back and have collected copies of most of the orignal series as well as all the movies and some copies of all the spin off series, Star Trek the next Generation, Deep Space 9, Voyager, etc. My favourite SF authors are, Azimov, Heinlein, Silverberg, McCaffrey, Sara Douglas
This is me. I served as a member of the State Emergency Service and the Rural Fire Brigades for over 16 years both in New South Wales and Queensland. I spent the last few years as a Senior Instructor, the highest instructional qualification in the Qld SES. For my living I work as a Security Officer with a major company. I am licenced to carry revolver, semiauto pistol and shotgun. In addition I have a concealable firearm licence and my personal fiream is a Glock 23C in .40SW. A great gun. I am a firm believer in the right to defend oneself and family and that self defence should be an allowable reason to own and carry firearms whenever and wherever we deem it needed. I also hold to the view that all Australians should be equally accountable before the law no matter their origin or cultural and racial backgrounds. That governments are too big and that through our collective cowardice we have allowed most of the natural liberties we have enjoyed to be encroached on by those who wish to take control or regulate everything from free speech to the way we bring up our children. I am a firm believer God and that the rights He gave us to be free and accountable, to be responsible for, and protect our families cannot be taken away from us by man or his government's Don't agree with me? That's no problem because that is what freedom is really all about. Want to discuss any of my views? Feel free to email me. In fact I think that Robert Heinlein got it right when he wrote in Starship Troopers, that only those who were prepared to serve their country and risk their lives for it, should be allowd to vote as citizens
This is my lovely wife Sue - yep you're right. She got the looks and the brains of the family. She is very talented and does some great cross stitch patterns and produces patterns from people's family photographs. This is my son Aaron and his wife Pip. He is studying geology at university and 1999 is his final year. He hopes to do his honours year doing a hazard mapping study of earthquake fault lines in Adelaide South Australia and then possibly going on to doctorate work the year after.
My two daughters Rachel and Sarah are too shy to be pictured on this page. So instead here is a look at my three beautiful grand children. Yes - I am a proud grand father and not ashamed to admit it. Keegan aged four is on the left and Nerys aged 3 is on the right. Caleb has just arrived. Again they get their looks from the wife's side of the gene pool.
