School Is A Lie
School Is A Lie
Ok, I can't speak for all schools, but my guess is that the majority of schools are real quick to address the good issues such as how the FFA won their dirt testing meet or the Spelling team didn't come in last, or some of that junk. But what about the bad? As of now, I can't recall once when we were allowed to talk about a negative issue concerning our own school.
For example, one of the department heads of the school down in the AG department wasn't the department head anymore. I asked about it, and nobody would answer and told me they wouldn't talk about it. Last year we had a teacher that had some sort of mental problem and missed about a month of school because of mental stress or some other load of crap. This year he's not there anymore, they say he turned in his resignation, I bet...
One of the teachers was put under investigation for multiple things over the summer. I never found out exactly what happened, but yet again we couldn't discuss it in school. Lets see, we could all spread a bunch of rumors, or we could discuss it and determine our own logical opinions. My point is, if they declare that he's innocent, why can't they discuss it with us? My guess is that most likely they probably were innocent of whatever he was charged with, but was not 100% innocent and probably got away with some stuff. After all this, the teacher was not suspended, or fined... He was promoted. You figure it this one out.
I don't know about other schools, but ours sends out a newsletter about all of the latest news at McCutcheon High School. Do you think they put any information at all that may remotely inform students of this? Nope.
Maybe your parents are different, but mine would like to be a little more informed. For example, the teacher with mental problems I spoke about earlier had two butcher knives in his desk drawer since he was an Animal Science teacher (Hick Class.) Would you want yourself or your kid in a class being taught by a psycho with knives?
A student in Indianapolis, was caught with 20 pieces of rock cocaine. Most of the parents did not know this had happened in their kid's school untill the saw it on the news. Well most parents would probably trust their kids not to do drugs and not think it a big deal. What if I told you the student caught with the drugs was in the first grade? Most kids that age don't know much about drugs and he could tell the other students it is candy. Yet neither the teachers or administration contacted any of the parents.
My point is, don't believe what the school tells you. I don't take part in any school activities or sports (don't get on my case about this and say that I should get involved, my response to this is "why?" I've heard a few reasons why to join crap, but all are basically BS answers and in my opinion school sports are dumb, don't get me wrong, I love the NFL and NBA and used to play sports and everything, but in my opinion sports in school is dumb.) This doesn't mean, don't trust anyone in school, but as a general rule don't trust anyone in the administration and only trust a select few teachers that you really know are cool and understand a student's perspective.
