Former
Minister of Tourism, Romanus Lansiquot says that he is not
surprised that the Minister of Tourism, Philip J. Pierre was
removed from the post. It was a bad decision to have appointed
him in the first place, reason being: He lacks the necessary
image for this high profile job and he also lacks the charisma
to attract new investment opportunities in tourism. It
doesn't matter what anyone says, the fact is that Mr. Pierre
has been demoted and replaced by his junior Minister who
obviously lacks the necessary experience for the job. In
1996 the tourism industry brought over 700 million dollars to
the economy. It is an industry that employs over 12,000 St.
Lucians. |
