Introduction to Karl Marx
Karl Marx is the founder of communism. He was born in Germany 1818, the son of a lawyer. His early years were spent in reasonable comfort and at the university of Bonn and Berlin, he studied history, philosophy and law. He became a journalist and editor in Paris. When he got married, he began his radical writings and revolutionary activities. He then began the life-long friendship and collaboration with Friedrich Engels. Engels was the co-author with Marx of the Communist Manifesto. Later, Marx and his family were expelled from France, Belgium, and Germany. He then moved to London in 1849. He published the first volume of Das Kapital in 1867 and the two final volumes were edited by Engels. It was published in March 1883 after Marx's death.
