A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
Reviewed by Arnold Engel
While telling the life story of Owen Meany, a midget in stature but not in repute, Irving interweaves the story of the Vietnam War. His style is compelling and the historical context is well founded. A satisfying read, undoubtably, which will leave you excited about Mr. Irving's other books. The end of this one remains, unforgetable.
