Everyone has the right to speech. I personally think students should be able to address their teachers/adults by their first name. I was outraged when I found out Louisiana is making a ridiculous law that is making students in grades Kindergarten through 5th call their teachers "Sir" and "Ma'am". Some people think it's disrespectful to their elders if a child calls an adult by their first name. Why? If children are going to be properly taught, they should be able to have a good relationship with their teachers. And that could start, by letting the kids call their teachers by their first names, to establish a good bond between them. |

The death penalty is downright wrong. If a murder kills someone, and then the government kills them, isn't that hypocritical? What happens if they are innocent, and are 'proven' guilty? That has happened before. Our government isn't the greatest thing around, and it makes mistakes big and small. And the death penalty is one of the biggest. The 8th amendment states that the government shall not administer cruel or unusual punishments to anyone. The death penalty is blatantly cruel. |

If Jack Kevorkian is convicted of murder, than so should the government. If someone decides to take their own life, they should be able to. And if an individual wants to assist them so it is as quick and as painless as possible, more power to them! Your body, your choice. Do what you want to it, because you are only hurting yourself. |

We were born nude. It's how God (or whatever is up there) made us, so why should we cover it up? We all know what's under there. We get taught it in health class in middle school. The government is thinking about making flag-burning illegal. Not only is that against the first amendment, but it also does not harm anyone. If you are against burning the flag, then express yourself by NOT burning it. As of today, me and my friend Rose Benner burned a little plastic flag from last year's Fourth of July. Not to be disrespectful, just to protest. In my backyard. Some schools in America are making the most ridiculous rules about how students express themselves. In one school I know about, there are so many stupid rules it made my head spin. Such as, you are only allowed to wear white colored shoelaces, because the school board thought different colored shoelaces were gang-related. Homosexual books are not allowed in a local highschool, which is appalling! I'm losing my pride in my country quickly. |
